Your hosts
Aaron Jeffery
Aaron has spent the past five years focused almost exclusively on astrophotography, developing a strong command of capturing landscapes beneath the Milky Way and other celestial bodies. His skill set includes advanced techniques such as long-exposure noise reduction through image stacking, focus stacking for maximum detail, and creative light-painting—all of which he’ll be teaching throughout the workshop.
With extensive boating and camping experience on Georgian Bay, Aaron knows the area intimately and loves sharing its unique beauty with photographers who share his passion for the night sky.
Scott Visscher
My journey into nightscape photography began at a family cottage in Northern Ontario, where the dark skies first sparked a lasting curiosity. Over the years, I’ve developed a technical and artistic approach to astrophotography, specializing in star stacking, long-exposures, and light-painting techniques that reveal the landscape in new ways.
I’m continually inspired by the quiet, remote places far from urban light pollution, and I’m excited to guide you through capturing the night sky over the breathtaking waters of Georgian Bay.

“I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Scott’s astrophotography workshop. He was incredibly helpful from start to finish, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited to make sure everyone walked away with great results. With his guidance, I captured my best shot yet of the Milky Way core, something I’ve been trying to nail for a long time.
The whole evening was well organized and relaxed, with a great atmosphere and even snacks provided, which made the experience that much more enjoyable. It was fun, hands-on, and perfect for anyone looking to level up their night-sky photography. Highly recommended!”
“I went on the Astro Photo Workshop with Scott and Aaron in August 2025. It was outstanding! Both were extremely helpful with composition suggestions, camera settings. Safety was a priority on the boat and while navigating rocky terrain in the dark. Whether you are new to Astrophotography or have experience, you will come away with great images under their guidance. Highly recommend and I look forward to taking more workshops with them!”
