About me
Hi, I'm Scott Visscher — a nightscape and landscape photographer based in the Greater Toronto Area, as well as a husband and proud father of three girls.
My journey in photography began with disposable film cameras and the excitement of waiting for developed prints. That early curiosity grew when I got my first DSLR, a Canon Rebel T2i, which I used to document family trips and everyday moments. Over the years, that casual interest evolved into a deep passion for capturing the natural world — especially after dark.
Today, I specialize in astrophotography and night landscape photography, often chasing clear skies across rural Ontario to photograph the Milky Way, aurora borealis, and peaceful wilderness scenes. That first glimpse of a truly dark sky — at a cottage near Parry Sound — opened my eyes to the beauty just beyond city lights.
My work has been featured in juried art shows, local galleries, and cafés, and I’ve had the privilege of hosting photography workshops and tutorials in the Toronto area. Whether teaching others or exploring the outdoors on my own, I find the experience of being in nature — especially at night — deeply grounding.
Thanks for taking the time to explore my work. I hope it inspires you to look up more often.
